Pricing & engagement
Three ways to evaluate. Three ways to scale.
Engagement starts with self-serve evaluation and ends with per-title onboarding under standard pilot terms. Below: the three engagement paths, what stays with you, and the three pricing tiers.
§ 01 Three engagement paths
Evaluate in increasing depth.
Path 01
Self-serve, today.
Make a free reader account on living-literature.org. Free turns per book, ~15-turn account cap. Explore governance on books we've already onboarded. No call, no commitment.
Path 02
Watch the workflow.
The walkthrough video shows a full book onboarding from manuscript intake through accept-and-launch. Useful before a meeting; sufficient for an editorial team to evaluate fit.
Path 03
Free 4-week pilot — one of your titles.
Send us one title from your backlist. Within four weeks we return a fully governed companion at a private URL plus an A/B comparison with a generic commercial model on representative reader questions. No cost. No obligation. If you continue, subsequent titles use per-title pricing (see below). Per-title configuration owned by you, exit clean if you wind down.
Ready to talk? Email rayan@living-literature.org with a candidate title and we'll set up a 30-minute call.
What Path 03 actually looks like, week by week.
| Week | Phase | What gets done |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | Paperwork | SOW + NDA signed. Title and editorial owner confirmed. |
| 1 | Intake + intent | Manuscript ingested. Author-intent session. Workspace live. |
| 2 | Canon Pack | Editorial framework built and reviewed by editor + author. |
| 3 | Governance | A/B preview loop. 6–10 lever adjustments to convergence. |
| 4 | Validation + launch | Conformity probe battery. Side-by-side report. Soft launch. |
| 30 days post | Post-pilot report | Reader patterns, drift incidents, scaling decision. |
Total elapsed: 4 weeks from kickoff to live URL. Total publisher time: ~6 hours editorial + ~1 hour author across all four weeks.
§ 02 Integration
Part of paid onboarding.
CPLite ships three integration options for your engineering team:
- Hosted on authors.living-literature.org — a private branded URL. Zero engineering on your side.
- Embedded widget — a single iframe or web-component snippet for your reader app. ~1 day of web work.
-
HTTP/JSON API at
cplite.living-literature.org/api/— call from any backend. The endpoint surface (/chat,/exemplars,/governance,/usage) is documented and self-describing — hit any endpoint to see its request/response contract. Sandbox API keys and full SDK helpers issued at SOW signing.
Compatible with Vercel, AWS Lambda, Cloudflare Workers, or your own infrastructure.
§ 03 What stays with you
Your business, your books, your readers — yours.
| You retain | We provide |
|---|---|
| All editorial decisions about title interpretation | The methodology and configuration schema |
| All reader relationships and reader data | The governance copilot and A/B preview tooling |
| All branding and reader-facing presentation | Methodology updates as commercial models evolve |
| All commercial relationships with downstream readers, libraries, and licensees | Integration support — your team or ours |
§ 05 The proof loop
The methodology measures itself.
Conformity scoring, drift-incident logs, and post-launch governance metrics ship as part of the editorial dashboard. Reference numbers from the live 9-book collection: ~85% mean register conformity, ~95% on matched-exemplar probes (vs ~70% baseline with governance disabled). Your post-pilot report applies the same instrument to your title.
§ 04 Pricing
Three engagement tiers. First title free.
Per-title governance
$25–50 onboarding · per title
Best for: signature titles, anniversary editions, prestige backlist.
Perpetual configuration license. Methodology updates included.
Annual catalog license
From $50/month + onboarding
Best for: imprint-wide or list-wide adoption.
Monthly platform fee scales with catalog size and subscriber count. Editor training, copilot platform access, version updates included.
Enterprise / platform
Custom by engagement
Best for: reading platforms, library systems, large publisher networks.
Custom integration, SLA, dedicated implementation support.
The first pilot title is free — a four-week governed-companion build with no cost and no commitment. Subsequent titles inside the same pilot engagement receive over 50% discount. Final pricing depends on complexity, length, genre, and other engagement terms. Contact rayan@living-literature.org for a tailored quote.
Send us the title. We'll show you the rest.
Email rayan@living-literature.org with one public-domain backlist title. We return a governed companion in 2 weeks. No introductory call required.
